Celtic are in a decent position right now but at the same time, it is evident that they need to improve in certain areas. There has been a lot of talk about the squad depth in recent days, as it is clear that Brendan Rodgers does not have a lot of players who can come off the bench and change the course of a match.

But at the same time, there are some starting positions where they could still improve. One of them is goalkeeper.

Joe Hart has been the number one between the posts since joining the club from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2021. The Englishman has done a very good job so far but he is 36 years of age and in the final year of his contract.

There have been rumours that Hart could be handed a new contract. It remains to be seen if that is the case or not. But the club do need to bring in a new number one sooner or later. One of the goalkeepers Celtic have been linked with in recent times is Andriy Lunin of Real Madrid. But it looks like Chelsea could turn out to be a potential destination for him.

As reported by The Sun, Real Madrid will offer Lunin to Chelsea in a part-exchange deal to help smooth a permanent move for Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spaniard is currently on loan at Santiago Bernabeu.

Lunin has played very little football for Real Madrid over the years despite being highly rated. And his current deal runs out next summer.

Someone like him could be a decent long-term addition for Celtic. Lunin is just 24 years of age and has been a Real Madrid player since 2018. Chelsea signed Robert Sanchez this summer but there are question marks over him.
