There were two high-profile exits from Celtic over the course of the summer. Jota left in a Scottish record move in order to join Al-Ittihad. We all know how that one has turned out for him. He seems to be completely out of the first-team picture at the club already and it seems to be only a matter of time before he heads for the exit door, if he wants to play consistent football.

While the struggles of Jota have grabbed most of the headlines, it does not mean that Carl Starfelt has had a good time since leaving Celtic either. In fact, he might be in just as bad a situation.

Now, Starfelt is not struggling for playing time. In fact, he is playing a lot of football for Celta Vigo at the moment.

The problem is, Celta Vigo find themselves in the relegation zone in La Liga right now. They are sitting on 6 points after 11 games and have only been able to win just one of them, against bottom-placed Almeria. As a result, they are one of the top contenders for the drop to say the very least.

Starfelt seems to have made big mistake leaving Celtic

It will be very interesting to see how things go for Celta Vigo from here. They will need to improve significantly in the upcoming games if they are to stay up in the top flight of Spanish football.

Starfelt is playing consistently. But Celta Vigo have the third-worst defensive record in La Liga right now. Surely that does not reflect well on the Swedish centre-back.

This is looking like another case of the grass not being greener on the other side. Surely, neither Jota nor Starfelt would have seen things play out this way when they departed Parkhead for pastures new.

More. Celtic should sign prolific striker for free next summer. light
