Brighton & Hove Albion have arguably the best scouting network in world football right now. It is remarkable how they have been able to identify one potential superstar after another, move them on for big transfer fees and replace them with new players without their performance levels going down. It looks like they have a Celtic ace in their sights now.

Celtic certainly have some fantastic talents on their roster right now. And it would be no surprise if Brighton & Hove Albion came calling for some of them in the future.

One of Celtic’s best performers this season has been Matt O’Riley. His game has gone up a few levels following the arrival of Brendan Rodgers as manager and he is playing the best football of his career right now. And the Danish youth international seems to have caught the eye of the Seagulls.

As reported by Football Insider, Brighton & Hove Albion are keeping close tabs on O’Riley. Their scouts have regularly watched the midfielder.

Brighton & Hove Albion are not the only Premier League club to be linked with O’Riley recently. Brentford, another team with an excellent scouting system, are rumoured to hold an interest in the Celtic midfielder as well. And if he continues to perform at this level, one would only expect the interest in his signature to grow further.

Celtic signed O’Riley from English League One side, MK Dons for a transfer fee believed to be around £1.5 million in early 2022. But the general feeling is that it would take a Scottish record fee in order to convince the Hoops to part ways with him.

O’Riley was always a solid performer for Celtic but he has now added consistent goals to his game. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 14 appearances this season.
