Scott Brown’s Celtic career did not end the way it should have. For a captain who lifted so many trophies during his time at Parkhead, his last season went trophyless. Not only that but there were no fans in the stands to bid him goodbye. He would join Aberdeen in a player-coach role but that proved to be a misstep in hindsight.

Brown would leave Aberdeen in the middle of the season and would eventually announce his retirement in order to move into management. Not a fitting end to such a legendary playing career.

Brown showed quite a bit of promise in his first job in management, with Fleetwood Town. The English side improved their position in League One while Broony also guided them to their best-ever FA Cup campaign.

Things would go south in his second season in the Fleetwood Town hot seat. A bad start to the campaign left them near the bottom of the table and Brown was shown the exit door. He now finds himself without a club.

Celtic hero in talks with unexpected club over a return to management

As reported by Fotbolti, there has been a lot of talk about KR’s search for a coach, but the club has heard from various coaches. They have talked with Brown.

KR are a football team based in Iceland. And if Brown did end up managing them, it would be an interesting turn in his managerial career, and one that not many would have seen coming, to be honest.

As a player, Brown spent his entire career in Scotland. As a manager, football seems to be taking in a different direction though. He has already had an eventful time in the third division down south. Now, could he find himself managing in the Icelandic capital? Time shall tell.
