Celtic will be facing arguably their toughest test of the season when they welcome Atletico Madrid to Parkhead in midweek in the third Champions League group stage game of the campaign. The Hoops have been in good form lately, but Diego Simeone’s side have been even better and have to be considered as the favourites despite the match being in Glasgow.

Atletico Madrid are on a six-match winning streak at the moment. That has included wins over Real Madrid and Real Sociedad. They are also top of their Champions League group while Celtic are bottom.

Antoine Griezmann has been in top form once again. And he got ready for the trip to Glasgow by scoring a hattrick at the weekend against Celta Vigo.

Griezmann is one of the players that Celtic need to watch for. And the Frenchman certainly seems to be looking to find the back of the net at Parkhead. As reported by the Daily Record, he said:

"“I feel like I am in some of the best form of my career. I feel like I can go to Glasgow and score goals.“It is always nice to score, but goals on the big occasions in the big stadiums is extra special. It is my dream to win the Champions League. It has always been my dream. And we are capable of that. We have a coach who always makes it clear to us not to look beyond the next game, so that is what we do. We want to go and win in Glasgow and then it is back to La Liga.”"

Stopping Griezmann will be a task and a half for Celtic. The Frenchman is one of the best players in the world.

But Atletico Madrid are not just a one-man team either. They have plenty of great players in their ranks. For example, Alvaro Morata has been on top form for both club and country recently and he is another player who could make the difference against Celtic in midweek.

Of course, Celtic do have to go toe-to-toe with Atletico Madrid and outperform them in every department in order to come out of the game with a result. They did so against Lazio and ended up losing. Football is a funny game and no team should be counted out. Especially one with the Parkhead crowd behind them under the bright lights of the Champions League.
