Green Brigade are no stranger to controversy and there has been quite a bit of it in recent weeks, especially considering the global situation at this point in time. Of course, the Celtic fan group have never hesitated to let their opinions be known in public, even though they might not always represent the views of the club or the entire fanbase.

Green Brigade remain a large part of the identity of the club as a whole though. And they certainly play their part in creating the atmosphere that Celtic are well known for all over the world.

Amidst all this, rumours broke out on social media recently that the Green Brigade had had their season tickets. And they supposedly did not have access to tickets for the upcoming away games against Hearts and Hibernian.

It is not unprecedented for a club to ban their own ultras group and has happened several times in the past. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are the two most famous examples.

As reported by The Celtic Star, the Green Brigade’s tickets have not been cancelled. Unless something unexpected happens between now and then, they will be in their usual North Curve section against Atletico Madrid.

Of course, it is not hard to understand why the club and many of the fans might sometimes be uncomfortable with the messages that the Green Brigade. And their views do not always aligh with each other.

That being said, it would be disappointing if the Green Brigade are indeed banned from Parkhead at some point in the future. They certainly play a major part in creating the atmosphere inside the stadium and Celtic would certainly be missing something without them. That being said, let’s see what the future holds. We can only hope for the best.
