Cameron Carter-Vickers has been one of Celtic’s best players since joining the club back in 2021. We have not seen the best of him this season till now and understandably so. He had undergone surgery towards the end of the previous campaign and returned early in this one only to be injured after a few games.

Carter-Vickers has made a return to fitness recently and it is only natural for him to take some time to get up to speed. There is no doubt that we will see him performing at a high level once again soon.

Celtic have been handing out new deals left, right and centre lately. But Carter-Vickers is yet to sign an extension although there have been rumours of that potentially happening in the future.

At the same time, one cannot rule out the possibility of him leaving. Carter-Vickers spent several years at Tottenham Hotspur but never made a single appearance in the Premier League.

As reported by The Sporting News, Carter-Vickers said while speaking about the prospect of another shot at the Premier League:

"“If it comes, it comes, great, but if it doesn’t, I’m happy where I’m at now.”"

Of course, that is the answer one would hope for. At the end of the day, one cannot expect him to completely rule out the possibility of one day making a return to the Premier League.

Carter-Vickers is still just 25 years of age and one would think that his form for Celtic would have caught the eye of plenty of clubs down south. He is already proven in the Championship and certainly looks more than good enough for the Premier League.

Of course, Celtic fans will be hoping for Carter-Vickers to stay at the club for the long run. We saw his defensive partner, Carl Starfelt, leave over the summer. But in the form of Liam Scales, there is another player he could form a partnership with in the heart of defence.
