Celtic could do with another striker. Kyogo Furuhashi has been brilliant during his time at Parkhead and there is no doubt that he is the first-choice up top for the Hoops. Oh Hyeon-gyu’s recent form has been a worry. The South Korean striker had shown promise towards the end of last season but has yet to score or assist in this campaign till now and we are in the middle of October already. Of course, one must point out that he has played very little football.

One could argue that Celtic needed another striker anyway. Two simply is not enough for the amount of football that the Hoops play every season.

Also, we have seen them struggling to score goals in the Champions League once again this season. It was the same story last time around as well and having another option could have helped.

Celtic have signed plenty of youngsters in recent times. It might be time to look towards bringing in a bit more experience in the future. And they should keep an eye out for free agents.

Celtic should sign Belgian striker for free next summer

Michy Batshuayi is someone whose contract is set to run out next summer. He is currently at Fenerbahce.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 20 goals in 32 appearances for Fenerbahce last season. He also has 27 goals for the Belgian national team to his name in 52 appearances.

Batshuayi certainly knows his way to the back of the net. So, if he does end up becoming a free agent next summer, Celtic should definitely consider making a move for the proven goalscorer who would be 30 years of age at that point.

Someone like Batshuayi could certainly make an impact up top for Celtic. And interestingly, he is not getting a lot of game time at Fenerbahce this season.
