Brendan Rodgers grew up supporting Celtic. That is pretty well known. That is why the fans were left so disappointed when he decided to leave the club in the middle of the 2018/19 season to join Leicester City. Now, that is a thing of the past as the Northern Irishman is back at Parkhead and looking to bring home more silverware for the Hoops.

During his first stint at Parkhead, Rodgers won seven trophies, not losing in a single domestic competition. That run unfortunately came to an end this time around, as they were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup very early.

Celtic might have stumbled out of the gates this season but they are picking up momentum now. And Rodgers’ side are already seven points clear at the top of the Premiership table.

There has been a lot of talk surrounding this season’s kit, with most fans not liking it at all. Amidst all this, Rodgers recently opened up about his all-time favourite Celtic jersey.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Rodgers was speaking over clips of some of the club’s most special moments from the past on Celtic’s YouTube channel and it looks like the 1987/88 Centenary double-winning side’s kit is his favourite of all-time, as the Northern Irishman said:

"“The cup final, a special time. You can see what it meant to Billy McNeill. I always look at this here, this was my favourite Celtic strip of all time. I loved the badge, the crest, and there was a little diamondy effect there. It was an amazing, amazing final.“There are memories of growing up, being taken into the pubs to watch these games and the tension in these pubs because it was the only way we could see it – to get that sense of celebration and joy and Celtic winning.”"

Rodgers will surely be looking to create some special moments for the club this season as well. Although, it is unlikely that many people will bring up the current kit as their all-time favourite in the future. But you never know.

As things stand, Celtic are pretty much in control of the Premiership title race. Rodgers has outlasted another Rangers manager, with Michael Beale being shown the exit door recently. Let’s see who replaces the Englishman at Ibrox. Kevin Muscat and Philippe Clement have emerged as favourites.
