Celtic have looked towards the South Korean league quite a bit this year and have signed three players. Oh Hyeon-gyu was brought in in the winter transfer window while Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu arrived over the summer. None of them have established themselves as starters yet but it is important to give them some time to settle down.

Oh was starting to impress towards the end of last season. But this time around, he is yet to score his first goal of the campaign. On the other hand, we have not even seen Kwon in action since joining the club in the summer.

One player who has been getting quite a bit of playing time lately is Yang. And he has been inconsistent. There have been times when he has shown his brilliant potential. But then, there have been others where he has failed to impress and not looked good enough to be a starter for Celtic.

Yang is just months into his time in Scotland though. And it is perhaps natural that he would face some difficulties in adjusting to life both on and off the pitch in the beginning.

Yang names one problem he is facing at Celtic

As reported by the Daily Record, Yang told Celtic TV:

"“I don’t think there’s any difficulty getting used to life in Scotland.“But if I had to pick one, it would be the language. Since I’m not good at speaking English, there is a language barrier when I’m trying to communicate with other players on the team. Other than that I have no problems. The speed of Scottish teams transitions from attack to defence or vice-versa is way quicker than Korean teams. Also, defenders here are a lot more physical.“It was such an honour to play in the Champions League. It’s a shame that I couldn’t show all of my ability as I was feeling a bit nervous since it was such a big game. The main team objective is to win the Premiership. My personal objective is to score my first goal and be of help to the team.”"

Overall, all of these experiences should help Yang grow as a player and as an individual. Of course, not everything has gone smoothly but that was not expected in the first place.

Players take time to adjust when they come from a completely different culture. It is only natural. Hopefully, Yang will be able to make that adjustment soon.

Luis Palma is starting to show his quality recently. So, playing time might prove to be a bit more difficult to come by for Yang moving forward. Also, Liel Abada is currently out injured. When back, he is expected to be ahead in the pecking order.
