Celtic fans were left disappointed when Ange Postecoglou left the club just days after guiding them to the domestic treble last season in order to join Tottenham Hotspur. The Australian had gotten his big chance in Europe with the Hoops and taken it with both hands, winning five trophies in two seasons and playing a great brand of football along the way.

While Postecoglou’s departure might have been a blow to Celtic, they did replace him with the best option available in the form of Brendan Rodgers. On the other hand, the Australian has proven to be a great success in the Premier League and has Tottenham Hotspur sitting at the top of the table right now. It is hard not to be happy for him.

Tottenham Hotspur were expected to struggle this season, especially with Harry Kane leaving for Bayern Munich. Instead, they are absolutely flying under the management of Postecoglou.

With an unlikely title challenge on the cards, the club are expected to strengthen further in January. And one of the players in their sights appears to be one of Postecoglou’s favourites from his time at Celtic.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Postecoglou’s main priority is to strengthen the left flank following injuries to Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon. One name under consideration is that of Jota.

Jota was signed by Celtic during Postecoglou’s first summer as the manager of the club. And the Portuguese winger proved to be a grand success under the management of the Australian.

Jota left Celtic in the summer as well in order to join Al-Ittihad but the move has proven to be a failure already, with the winger out of the first-team plans there. Postecoglou has changed the course of the 24-year-old’s career once. Could he do it again?
