Celtic have been on a good run of form recently in domestic competitions. After stumbling out of the gates that had many questioning the reappointment of Brendan Rodgers, the Hoops have gotten things back on track. They are on a winning run in the league at the moment and sit 7 points clear at the top after just the first 8 games in the Premiership campaign.

Not many would have expected that. Especially when you consider the fact that it has never looked like the club have gotten out of second gear and there is believed to be a lot more room for improvement.

It is always great to have former players back at Parkhead. And one was spotted in and around the stadium recently.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Scott McDonald posted pictures of himself and his family outside of Celtic Park. It was before the game against Kilmarnock. The former player also went on to share a video of the match from his seat and snaps from the trophy room.

McDonald of course has a very unique place in Celtic history. Two late goals from him denied the Hoops the league title during Martin O’Neill’s final season as manager of the club, while the Australian was playing for Motherwell.

But then, he would go on to play a vital part in helping Celtic win the title a few years later. In his debut campaign for the club, he found the back of the net 31 times.

Overall, McDonald would spend three seasons at Celtic. The Australian was never able to repeat the heights of his debut campaign with Hoops but was decent over the next two years.

McDonald would ultimately leave in 2010. He went on to have a bit of a journeyman career after that, playing for Middlesbrough, Millwall, Motherwell, Dundee United, Partick Thistle and numerous others.
