Celtic are set to continue their UEFA Champions League campaign by welcoming Lazio to Parkhead. The Hoops made a losing start in the competition, losing 2-0 away against Feyenoord in their opening game and will be looking to put some points up on the board when they take on Maurizio Sarri’s side.

A lot has been made about the form of Lazio in recent times. They find themselves sitting at 16th in the Serie A table, having won just two of their first seven games in the Italian top flight this season.

But make no mistake about it, they still have a lot of top players. And when they travel to Parkhead, most people would consider the Serie A team as the favourites to come out with a win.

That does not mean that Sarri is not rating the opposition highly though. On the contrary, he seems to have done his homework on Celtic. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said while speaking on the club’s official YouTube channel:

"“This is a different team from Leicester.“They have more speed and more quality.“I think Rodgers is a very good manager. He has had a good career. I think Celtic will be a big danger. They are the dark horses in the group.“Celtic play with great intensity, speed and movement. I was surprised how good they are technically. They deserved more against Feyenoord. I didn’t think they deserved to lose. Do I expect a physical game? No. Celtic are the least physical team in the group.“They are very dynamic and very intense. So I don’t think it will be physical but it will have a lot of intensity.”"

It remains to be seen how Celtic do when they take on Lazio this time around. They do have some good memories of facing the Italian team in recent years.

The two teams met in the Europa League not too long ago. And Celtic defied the odds to win both home and away on those two occasions.

Fans will be hoping to see a repeat of that this time around as well but it will not be easy to pull off by any stretch of the imagination. Lazio still have players like Ciro Immobile, Alessio Romagnoli, Pedro, Daichi Kamada and more.

Thus, despite Lazio’s shaky form at the start of the season, they will be a tough test for Celtic to overcome. That being said, this feels like the Hoops’ most winnable game in the group at this moment all things considered.
