Celtic look ready to hold talks with two more players
Celtic have been very active in recent times and taking a number of steps in the positive direction. Yes, the club’s signings in the summer came under a lot of criticism and understandably so. They decided to go for only highly-rated youngsters and no real experience was brought to the club. The shortcoming of that strategy was on full show in their Champions League opener against Feyenoord as two new arrivals got sent off within five minutes of each other.
At the same time, the club deserves a lot of credit as well for how they have dealt with the contract situations of many. In the past, deals would just run down to the point where the Hoops had no choice but to let many key players go for bargain fees.
But Celtic have been handing out extensions left, right and centre lately. The likes of Kyogo, Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada, Stephen Welsh, Anthony Ralston, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate have all put pen to paper on new deals.
Now, it looks like they have their eyes set on a couple of more players. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor are also earmarked for talks.

Carter-Vickers has been one of Celtic’s most important players since he arrived in the summer of 2021. First on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, before being signed on a permanent basis later.
As for Taylor, he has been the starting left-back for the Hoops for a while now. His displays this season have drawn quite a bit of criticism but it looks like the club have faith in him.
One also has to wonder what a new deal for Taylor would mean for Alexandro Bernabei. It feels like his time at Parkhead is running out.
