Jota drops Instagram hint boosting Celtic return hope
Jota was one of Celtic’s most important players during the Ange Postecoglou era and certainly had a big hand in them winning five trophies over the previous two seasons. Not only did he contribute with both goals and assists but he was also someone with a lot of flair and the ability to rise up to the plate on big occasions, having scored in Glasgow Derbies, cup finals and also away at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid.
Celtic signed three new new wingers this summer. It does not feel like any of Luis Palma, Yang Hyun-jun and Marco Tilio are at Jota’s level at this point in time though.
Celtic have certainly missed Jota’s presence in the forward areas this season. On the other hand, the Portuguese winger is not having a good time either since leaving Parkhead to join Al-Ittihad.
Jota seems to be completely out of the first-team picture at Al-Ittihad despite having joined the club in a £25 million move just months ago. And some of his recent social media actions might have caught the eye of the fans.
Jota drops Instagram hint boosting Celtic return hope
As tweeted out by Rudy Galetti, Jota has removed “#AlIttihad player” from his Instagram bio. On the other hand, the club has decided that the player will stay out of the team list at least until the winter transfer session.
Considering the circumstances, it is hard to imagine that Jota has much of a future at Al-Ittihad. And unsurprisingly, there have been rumours linking him with a return to Celtic in January.
It remains to be seen if any such move materialises or not. But if there is a chance to bring him back, the Hoops should go for it. Jota would immediately improve the squad and add another dimension going forward.
