Celtic got themselves a morale-boosting and potentially title race-defining win at the weekend. With 96 minutes gone, it looked like they were set to drop points away at Fir Park. But then, they would pull out victory from the jaws of a draw as Matt O’Riley found the winner in the 97th minute of the game.

For the Rangers, things went from bad to worse. They lost 3-1 at Ibrox to Aberdeen to go seven points behind Celtic in the Premiership title race. And one has to wonder if it will be the end of Michael Beale’s run as the manager as well.

The club’s supporters seem to have given up on the manager already. There have been boos at Ibrox for a while now, even when they were on a four-game winning run.

As for Celtic, they seem to be moving away from the Ange Postecoglou era as well. And they might have just replaced his ‘We Never Stop’ catchphrase with a new one.

The win at Motherwell must have reminded fans of some of victories from the Postecoglou era and the ‘We Never Stop’ mentality of the players. But it appears that might have been rebranded now.

Celtic have not made the brightest of starts to Brendan Rodgers’ second run as manager of the club. But as the weeks progress, they do appear to be getting better.

The same cannot be said about their crosstown rivals. They seem to be following the ‘one step forward, two steps back’ mantra at the moment. Just when it looked like they were getting back on track, they suffered a convincing defeat against Aberdeen.

It is hard to see how Beale gets back from this result. Of course, considering the results this season, Celtic fans would want him to stay in the Ibrox hot seat for a long time to come.
