Celtic have quite a big squad at this point in time. While there are some areas where they could do with more top-quality reinforcements, overall, they have plenty of options across the pitch. As a result, there are quite a few who struggled to get consistent playing time. Some are still at the club while others have departed on a temporary basis in search of minutes on the pitch.

One player who left on loan in the summer is Sead Haksabamovic. He was signed in the summer of 2022.

To be fair to Haksabanovic, he did show flashes of brilliance after arriving and even won the Player of the Month in November of last year. But the World Cup break came at the wrong time for him and he rarely got opportunities in the second half of the season.

Haksabanovic now finds himself out on loan at Stoke City in the English Championship. And he is making an impression there.

Celtic player wants to leave permanently next year

As reported by Football Insider, Haksabanovic wants to agree a permanent move away from Celtic next year. He wants to secure an exit either in January or next summer.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Haksabanovic. But considering that he has made a bright start to life at Stoke City, it is very possible that the English club could try to sign him on a permanent basis in the future if he does to continue to perform like this.

There was no question about Haksabanovic’s talent, even while he was not playing much at Celtic. But he just never felt like the right fit in Ange Postecoglou’s system. He perhaps could have had a bigger role this season if he had stayed on but he chose to leave on loan instead.
