The clock might be ticking on Michael Beale’s time as the manager of the Rangers. Celtic could have easily dropped points this weekend when they saw Motherwell equalise in the 95th minute of the game at Fir Park. But showing the character of champions, Brendan Rodgers’ side found the winner in the 97th minute through Matt O’Riley.

The same cannot be said about the Rangers. They lost at Ibrox to Aberdeen, and in convincing fashion as well.

Beale’s side were already 2-0 down when they were shown a red card as well. A goal from Abdallah Sima provided them with some hope but they were quickly extinguished as Jack McKenzie scored a third for Aberdeen, putting the game beyond the Rangers and sending them 7 points adrift of Celtic in the league table.

The Ibrox supporters were already unhappy with how things were going for Beale’s side this season. And now, it seems like only a matter of time before the club show him the exit door.

It is safe to say that the Rangers fans were not happy with the result and they let it be known on Twitter:

It remains to be seen if the Rangers do decide to part ways with Beale after this result. They have actually picked up some decent wins recently, including one over Real Betis in the Europa League.

But their situation in the league is pretty bad at this point in time. Seven games in and the title race might already be over.

Considering how things have been going for the Rangers under the management of Beale, Celtic fans will be hoping that the change is not made anytime soon. But it is hard to imagine that the Englishman will remain in the Ibrox hot seat for much longer.
