Celtic take possible dig at Rangers’ loss to Aberdeen
It was a completely different weekend for the two Glasgow giants. Celtic grabbed victory from the jaws of a draw twice. First, they went ahead in the 87th minute against Motherwell at Fir Park. And then they found a winner in the 97th minute. On the other hand, the Rangers ended up losing 3-1 to Aberdeen at Ibrox. The result means that seven points separate the two teams after just seven league games this season.
Unsurprisingly, a lot of Rangers fans want to see Michael Beale being shown the exit door as soon as possible. All of the positivity around his run and the future seems to have evaporated by now and it is hard to see him turning things around from here.
On the other hand, Celtic have been nowhere near their best either. But they have been good enough to go seven points clear of the Rangers. St Mirren sit at second at the moment, four points behind Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Celtic’s Twitter account possibly appeared to have some fun at the expense of the Rangers this weekend. They posted this picture right as Beale’s side were set to lose to Aberdeen and were 3-1 down:

If this was a mere coincidence, then the timing worked out in favour of the admin. But one would like to think that it was not one.
Of course, it is way too early to think that the title race is over. One has to remember that Celtic have not been particularly impressive themselves, although they are starting to get results now.
But we are still just seven games into the league season. There is no room for complacency. That being said, the Rangers have left themselves with a mountain to climb and will have to be perfect from here on.
