Celtic found themselves in a difficult situation in the summer. The club had just won the Treble but then saw Ange Postecoglou depart the club for Tottenham Hotspur. While the Australian’s decision disappointed the fans, it was understandable to some degree as well. The Hoops needed to bring in a replacement quickly.

They were linked with quite a few names to replace Postecoglou. But ultimately, it was Brendan Rodgers who ended up completing a return to Parkhead for a second run as Celtic manager.

Another manager they were linked with is Pascal Jansen. And the AZ Alkmaar boss seems to be drawing interest from the Premier League now after a superb start to the season.

AZ Alkmaar have won all of their league games till now. As reported by TEAMtalk, Everton and Crystal Palace are both eyeing Jansen as their potential next manager.

Jansen has done a very good job at AZ Alkmaar and it is not hard to understand why he might have been on the radar of Celtic over the summer as a potential replacement for Postecoglou. The club did find one in the form of Rodgers.

There is nothing to suggest that Celtic are not happy with the choice they made. In fact, one could argue that the club went out and got the best option available for a change.

Rodgers is proven at the very top level, having almost guided Liverpool to the Premier League title during his time in the Anfield hot seat. He also won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Leicester City and got them into the race for Champions League spots on more than one occasion.

Rodgers’ record at Celtic speaks for itself. He won seven trophies last time around and turned the team into a Treble-winning machine.
