Celtic are one of the best-supported clubs in the world. Many people often do not understand how big the fanbase actually is, as the Scottish Premiership is not considered among the most popular. And the Hoops certainly do have their fair share of celebrity supporters as well. The most well-known ones are Rod Stewart and Lewis Capaldi, while Snoop Dogg has been pictured wearing the jersey more than once.

Now, it looks like it is time to add the name of another musician to that list. It is none other than American rapper Macklemore.

Macklemore is one of the most popular artists of this generation. He has almost 31 million monthly listeners on Spotify at the time of writing. On his YouTube channel, he has close to 10 million subscribers. And he has songs like ‘Can’t Hold Us’ and ‘Thrift Shop’, both of which have been streamed billions of times.

Macklemore is a known sports fan and has publicly shown his support for Seattle-based teams in the past. And it looks like he might have a soft spot for Celtic as well.

As reported by Football Scotland, Macklemore did a gig in a Celtic shirt during his tour of New York City. He also had ‘Heggarty 83’ printed on the back, which is his last name and the year in which he was born.

Macklemore having any connection to Celtic was not known before this. But he is of Irish heritage, which might explain his love for the club.

He joins a quickly growing list of A-list celebrities who have been pictured donning the green-and-white jersey. All of them must be delighted with the success that the club have enjoyed in recent years, winning 11 of the last 12 league titles. They sit at the top of the Premiership right now as well.
