Scott Brown is a Celtic icon and many fans would happily see him make a return to the club to be a part of Brendan Rodgers’ coaching team. After a glorious playing career, Broony made the move to management last season with Fleetwood Town. And he did have a very promising debut campaign as a manager.

Under Brown’s management, Fleetwood Town improved significantly in the league. And they had their best run ever in the FA Cup.

But Fleetwood Town struggled for form at the start of this season and it resulted in Brown being shown the exit door. Many believe that the League One side should have given him more time to turn things around.

Now, Brown is available as a free agent. And he is being linked with a return to Scottish football, albeit at the Championship level.

Brown has been linked with Inverness Caledonian Thistle job recently. The Scottish Championship club are without a manager right now after showing after parting ways with Billy Dodds earlier in the campaign. As reported by The National, Iain Auld said on BBC Sportsound:

"“Darren O’Dea is still the one that I think is top of the list here at Caley Thistle but interestingly Scott Brown has been in Inverness this week.“I don’t know if he has been up visiting or if he has been in contention.”"

Interestingly, Inverness Caledonian Thistle have been linked with a move for Celtic B Team manager Darren O’Dea recently as well. It remains to be seen who ends up getting the Championship job. It is still uncertain whether Brown is in the running for it or not.

After how his run at Fleetwood Town ended, Brown might have to start at the Championship level if he wants to make a return to the Scottish game. Or he could try to build up his reputation by taking a coaching job somewhere. Of course, the most obvious choice would be Celtic but Broony should not have a lack of options considering what he achieved during his playing career.
