Celtic player makes public apology after win vs Livingston
Celtic deserve a lot of credit for the character they showed in the win over Livingston away at the Tony Macaroni Arena. For more than an hour, they were down to ten men. Yes, they were leading by 1-0 when the red card was shown but lesser teams would have gone into a shell and tried to hold onto a result. Instead, Brendan Rodgers’ side scored two more goals and ultimately got themselves a convincing 3-0 victory.
The three goals came from Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley and Daizen Maeda. As for the red card, it was Joe Hart who was given his marching orders in the 28th minute of the game.
It has not been a good week for Hart. In midweek, questions were asked about his role in Feyenoord’s opener as the Englishman allowed a somewhat average free-kick to find the back of his net. He did redeem himself on that occasion by saving a penalty.
There were no such heroics at the Tony Macaroni Arena as he was sent off in the 28th minute of the game. Scott Bain replaced him between the posts after that and kept a clean sheet.

Hart has issued an apology on Instagram while praising the team and the support. He wrote:
"What a team performance @celticfc apologies for my red card but team and support showed what they are about … top top mentality"
While Hart’s displays in recent times have drawn quite a bit of criticism, there is no question about what he brings to the team as a leader. One would hope that his performance will improve moving forward.
Hart has less than one year left on his current deal with Celtic and the club seem to be ready to back him as their number one for another season. Let’s see whether that proves to be the right decision on their part or a major mistake.
