There is an air of disappointment around Celtic after they made a losing start to their Champions League campaign. A decent first-half performance was undone at the stroke of half-time with Feyenoord scoring from direct free kick. Until that point, they had failed to create much in front of goal. The Dutch champions would score again after the break while the Hoops saw Gustaf Lagerbielke and Odin Thiago Holm sent off, as the match ended 2-0 in the Netherlands.

There might be some more bad news for Celtic on the horizon. It looks like a Championship club have made their move, as they look to sign one of their coaches.

Celtic met Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final last season, as the Championship club had made a fairytale run in the competition before coming up short against the Premiership champions, who clinched the treble that day. Since then, a lot has changed.

Ange Postecoglou left for Tottenham Hotspur and has been replaced by a returning Brendan Rodgers. On the other hand, Inverness Caledonian Inverness Thistle recently showed the exit door to Billy Dodds and appear to have a Celtic coach in their sights.

Championship club make approach for Celtic coach

As tweeted out by Scott Burns, Inverness Caledonian Thistle have made an approach to speak to Celtic B team boss Darren O’Dea. The Championship club are beginning their interview process.

O’Dea came through the youth ranks at Celtic as a player and following the end of his playing career, he has returned to the club in a coaching capacity. He started with the U18s side in 2019 and was promoted to the B Team in 2021.

O’Dea has earned a lot of plaudits for the job he has done with the Celtic B Team. Now, it looks like a chance to move up to the senior game is on the plate for him if he wants it.
