When you look at the bigger picture, Celtic are in the middle of one of their most successful eras ever. The club have won the league title eleven out of the last twelve times and have clinched several cups to go with it. They have won five domestic trebles during that period of time as well. That kind of dominance is unheard of. And although football fans always like to stay in the moment, we have witnessed something special that might never be repeated again.

Celtic do appear to have plans to get bigger and better. And it looks like they will be starting that with their training facilities.

There were murmurs about such plans while Ange Postecoglou was still the manager of the club. Now, they have been made official.

Celtic announced on their official website that they have today approved significant investment into a state-of-the-art re-development of Celtic’s Barrowfield Training Centre. It will not only be a major boost for the youth players but also for the Women’s first-team.

This is certainly a step in the right direction for the club and a decision that must be commended. Hopefully, it will help bring through many youth players into the senior team and help the Women’s team improve further.

It remains to be seen how things will play out but it is quite clear that the Hoops have some major plans regarding this training facility. On paper, this should help the club a lot.

The new facility is set to feature a new indoor arena, pitches with both natural and artificial grass, state-of-the-art gym facilities, medical suites for players’ treatment and rehab, a sports science centre and much more. It should help Celtic catch up with the training provided by top clubs down south.
