Gareth Bale is the most decorated British footballer in history and he often does not get the credit that he deserves for what he achieved at Real Madrid. The Welshman scored in more than one Champions League final and won the competition five times, a record he shares with several of his former teammates. He is more fondly remembered for his time at Tottenham Hotspur and he seems to have impressed with Ange Postecoglou, since his move down south from Celtic.

Postecoglou left Celtic just days after winning a domestic treble in order to join Tottenham Hotspur. Unsurprisingly, the fans were not particularly happy. But at the same time, most saw why the Australian had decided to make the move.

Postecoglou is already proving himself under the Premier League spotlight as well. Tottenham Hotspur are flying high, scoring for fun and sit at second in the table. The Australian has managed to win their fans over quickly as well, most of whom were not pleased when the appointment was made.

Of course, none of this will come as a surprise to Celtic fans. They have seen this movie before from up close.

Bale mentions Celtic in Postecoglou claim

Bale seems to have been left impressed by what he has seen from Postecoglou. As reported by Football Scotland, he told Sky Sports:

"“It’s great to see. I think they have got the style back, I think that is something the club was probably looking for as well, seeing how he played and performed at Celtic.“Great start and hopefully there is still more to come from the team. They will keep getting better with the new manager and the new kind of style. Hopefully they put themselves up there and give themselves a chance.”"

Postecoglou certainly had Celtic playing some of the best football we have seen in a long time. His side even went toe-to-toe with Real Madrid at Parkhead last season in the UEFA Champions League, although their finishing let them down.

The club have brought in Brendan Rodgers as Postecoglou’s replacement and to be very honest, the football has been nowhere near as good as it was last season till now. We are still early into the campaign though. The team needs time to adjust to the Northern Irishman’s system and things are only expected to get better after their win away at Ibrox over the Rangers.
