Ange Postecoglou is one of the most popular Celtic managers in recent memory. Not only did the Australian win over the fans with wins, trophies and the style of football that his team played but also with his conduct off the pitch as well. A cheeky one-liner was never far away and he seemed to understand what it meant to support the club.

Perhaps that is why Celtic fans were even more disappointed when he left the club in order to join Tottenham Hotspur. And yet, one can understand his decision.

Postecoglou is 57 years of age. He was perhaps never going to get another opportunity to manage a club like Tottenham Hotspur, in the spotlight of the Premier League. In fact, he got his first real chance in Europe in his mid-50s with Celtic.

To be very honest, it is almost impossible to not like someone like Postecoglou. He just seems a lot more relatable than most football managers.

Postecoglou makes emotional claim about Celtic fans

As reported by Glasgow Times, Postecoglou appeared on talkSPORT alongside Jim White and Simon Jordan, and one Celtic fan left a message that read:

"“I want to dislike Ange because he left us but I understand it. I just can’t dislike him, he’s an absolute class act listening to him and thanks to Ange for everything in his time at Celtic.”"

Postecoglou went on to give a brilliant response to the message from the Celtic supporter as he said:

"“It was a magical time for me. I have gone from managing one of the most famous football clubs in the world to managing one of the biggest.“I am living the dream and my two years at Celtic, I don’t need to tell people that, it will stay with me forever and mainly because of the supporters. It was a magical couple of years there.“I keep saying to everyone, if you have a bucket list of clubs you want to be involved with, Celtic would be right at the top of that list.”"

When Postecoglou was appointed as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, he was immediately written off by many. It was very similar to his arrival at Celtic Park in many ways.

Yet once again, Postecoglou has proven himself right and his doubters wrong. And he is the talk of the Premier League right now.

Tottenham Hotspur are second in the Premier League right now and have played some glorious football along the way. Only Brighton & Hove Albion have scored more goals than them. And all this despite the fact that Harry Kane left the club for Bayern Munich.
