Moussa Dembele is one of the best players that Celtic have had in recent years. He was absolutely brilliant during his time at Parkhead and became an absolute fan favourite. He was a stalwart from Brendan Rodgers’ first stint as the manager of the club and continues to show his love for the Hoops to this day.
Dembele remains a popular figure amongst Celtic supporters as well. Even though it has been years since he left the club to join Lyon, and currently finds himself playing for Al-Ettifaq.
Dembele shared a brilliant throwback on his social media recently. He retweeted the highlights package from Celtic’s 5-1 win over the Rangers in the Glasgow Derby back in 2016.
Dembele was known for his performances against the Rangers and he got himself a hattrick on that day. In his tweet, he described it as ‘The derby of derbys’ and ‘A complete demolition forever in my memory’.
Dembele shares beautiful Celtic throwback
Of course, it has been seven years since that day. But the memories remain fresh in the minds of many Celtic fans. You would expect nothing less when you put five goals past the Rangers.
Celtic have a brilliant striker leading the line for them right now as well in the form of Kyogo Furuhashi. And just like Dembele, he seems to have a knack for finding the back of the net against the Rangers as well.
It was just last weekend that he scored brilliantly against them from outside the box at Ibrox, in what proved to be the winner. Interestingly, Kyogo already has more goals to his name for Celtic than Dembele, despite having played fewer games than him.
Fans can only wonder what a combination of those two would have looked like up top. It is certainly a sight no Rangers supporter would ever want to see.
