Celtic will take on Dundee FC right after the international break. But fans cannot be blamed for already having half an eye on the upcoming Champions League campaign. The Hoops are set to face Feyenoord away at De Kuip in their opening game of the group stage of Europe’s elite competition.

Of course, Celtic were in the Champions League last season as well and arguably in a more difficult group with Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk. This time around, they will come up against Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid and Lazio.

It is a tough group once again without doubt. But there is some hope that the Hoops might make it out of it, or finish third to remain in Europe. They had finished bottom the last time around despite putting in some very good performances.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have been way too many injuries lately. But there is finally some good news for them on that front. As reported by The Celtic Star, Reo Hatate is apparently ready for first-team action after the international break.

Hatate has been one of Celtic’s most important players in recent times. And he is someone who did not look out of place in the Champions League last season.

He has not looked at his best under the management of Rodgers till now. But a lot of that might have been due to the uncertainty around his future over the summer.

That is settled now and hopefully, we will see Hatate performing at a high level once again when he is back. Celtic will need him at his best if they are to have a good Champions League campaign. With all due respect to David Turnbull, the Japanese midfielder is a much better player on his day.
