There is a lot of positivity around Celtic Park at the moment after the team were able to get a 1-0 win over the Rangers away at Ibrox last weekend. Heading into that game, Brendan Rodgers’ side had not been in great form, winning only two of their four games. But a Glasgow Derby victory is just the confidence booster that they needed and hopefully, it will help kickstart their campaign.

Injuries refuse to leave Celtic at the moment though. They already have a long list of key players out on the sidelines. And now, it looks like another name has been added to it.

Liel Abada has been one of Celtic’s most important players this season. So much so that he recently ended up signing a contract extension with the club, something that would have been pretty much unbelievable when Ange Postecoglou was the manager in the previous campaign and he was struggling for starts.

As reported by The Herald, Abada picked up an injury while away on international duty with the Israel national team. The Celtic player pulled up at the end of a training session with a quad injury.

Celtic cannot afford to lose Abada at this point in time. He has been one of their better performers this season and is one of the few players who can find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

With Jota leaving the club earlier in the summer, he is also a regular starter right now. So, hopefully, the injury is nothing serious.

Celtic have some very important games coming up. They will be starting their Champions League group stage campaign later this month with an away trip to face Feyenoord. On the other hand, they cannot afford to slip up in the league either and must build on the advantage they have over the Rangers.
