Michael Beale must be standing on shaky ground at Ibrox after losing another game to Celtic. The manager does not have a good record in Glasgow Derbies at all. On top of that, they were handed a 5-1 defeat by PSV in midweek, which saw them being knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers.

As things stand, they are already four points behind Celtic in the league after just four games. It must be pointed out that Brendan Rodgers’ side have stumbled out of the gate and are expected to get better.

It was no surprise when there were boos at Ibrox at full-time on Sunday. ‘Beale Out’ trended on social media after the game. Thus, it looks like the majority of the Rangers’ fans have already made up their mind when it comes to the manager and want to see him being shown the exit door.

Amidst all this, an interesting rumour is floating around on social media. As tweeted out by AussieScout, Yokohama F Marinos manager Kevin Muscat is considered by Rangers as a candidate to replace Beale were he to leave the club. Contact is believed to have been made with associates of the Australian.

The timing of this rumour is certainly interesting. Are the Rangers doing their homework in the scenario that they do have to part ways with Beale later this season?

One would expect Beale to be given some more time to bring things back on track. But to be honest, every manager is on borrowed time in Glasgow. When things go wrong, there is no turning back.

Of course, Muscat is a good manager and Celtic fans would not want to see him in the Ibrox hot seat. He was linked with the Parkhead job in the summer.
