Moussa Dembele is one of the best players that Celtic have had in recent memory. The Frenc striker was superb during his time at Parkhead and he has had an interesting career since leaving for Lyon. He had some great seasons in Ligue 1, which saw him being linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United. But some underwhelming ones as well. Now at 27 years of age, he finds himself at Al-Ettifaq.

Even though it has been several years since Dembele left Celtic to join Lyon, he has always remained a supporter of the Hoops. And he regularly posts about the club on his social media.

So, it is only natural that he would have had his eye on the recent Glasgow Derby at Ibrox. Celtic came out on top on the day, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kyogo on the brink of half-time.

Dembele sent a superb message on Twitter after the game. One which has absolutely delighted the Celtic supporters.

Celtic did not come into the first Glasgow Derby of the season in great form. They were winless in their previous two games, losing to Kilmarnock and drawing against St Johnstone.

They were not impressive in the two games that they had won before that either. Thus, it is only natural that Celtic fans were pretty worried going into the first Glasgow Derby of the season and losing it would have put Brendan Rodgers under some pressure already.

Thankfully, Celtic rose to the occasion on the day. Kyogo’s goal might have won the game but the entire team deserves credit for the win at Ibrox. Keeping a clean sheet with so many defenders missing was not simple but they got it done. They must use this victory as a launching pad for the rest of the campaign and go on a run of wins.
