Celtic have certainly had an eventful summer transfer window and it is set to close in hours. The club have made nine signings this time around but none of then can be considered as a marquee addition. It is Nat Phillips, the Liverpool centre-back, who comes with the biggest name value out of them and even he is on a season-long loan.
On the other hand, Celtic have seen quite a few players leave as well. The headline-grabbing exits were of course those of Jota and Carl Starfelt, two nailed-on starters from the Ange Postecoglou era.
With very little time left in the summer transfer window, it remains to be seen if there is any more activity. It does feel like one player could make a last-minute exit though.
As reported by the Gaziantep Pusula, Albian Ajeti landed at Istanbul New Airport and awaited the Gaziantep flight in the VIP lounge. He is expected to be in the city in the evening and will stay at The Arena Hotel tonight.
Celtic player could make last-minute Deadline Day exit
It is believed that Ajeti is on the verge of leaving Celtic this summer. There have even been rumours that Gaziantep FK have already agreed a deal with the Hoops and the Swissman is on his way.
That looks to be the case as well. So, while no official announcement has been made yet, it would come as a surprise if Ajeti remains a Celtic player beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
The signing of Ajeti will go down as one of the biggest transfer mistakes in Celtic history. The club are believed to have shelled out a transfer fee around £5 million to sign him from West Ham United in the summer of 2020. Over his time in Glasgow, the Swiss striker has scored 9 goals for the Hoops.
