Celtic are very busy at this point in time, as they try to improve their squad before the summer transfer window comes to an end. They have already brought in Luis Palma from Aris FC while loan deals for Nat Phillips of Liverpool and Paulo Bernardo of Benfica are believed to be very close as well.

On the other hand, there could be a few who depart the club before the summer window comes to a close. The likes of Albian Ajeti and Ismaila Soro leaving would not be a major issue, to be honest.

There is one player that fans want the club to keep at the club though. Unfortunately, recent rumours have suggested that he is considering the prospect of leaving and there does not seem to be any lack of interest in his signature either.

As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Celtic have rejected a £450,000 bid from an unnamed English Premier League club for Rocco Vata. It’s understood the offer included add-ons and a sell-on clause.

Vata only has a year left on his current deal with Celtic. Thus, he would be free to sign a pre-contract from January.

Vata is arguably the best youth player that the club have in their ranks right now. The 18-year-old has made a superb start to the season with Celtic B. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 6 goals in 5 appearances in this campaign.

Thus, under ideal circumstances, not only would Celtic keep Vata but they would also start giving him some minutes in the senior team. After all, Brendan Rodgers’ side are struggling for goals at the moment and have not scored in their previous two games.

Let’s see what the future holds for Vata. Hopefully, he stays on at Parkhead and goes on to become a feature in the senior team.
