Celtic are rumoured to be keen on strengthening in multiple positions across the pitch. One of them is striker. The club have Kyogo Furuhashi, who is incredible without a doubt. They cannot rely completely on the Japanese forward though. On the other hand, Oh Hyeon-gyu is out injured at the moment as well.

Thus, Brendan Rodgers could certainly do with another option up front. Either to start or to bring off the bench in the latter phases of the game.

There have been suggestions that Celtic could make as many as five more signings before the summer transfer window closes. One of them is expected to be another striker. But they appear to have suffered a setback in that regard already.

As reported by BT (via Glasgow Times), Brondby have knocked back a £4 million transfer bid from Celtic for Mathias Kvistgaarden. It is believed that Houston Dynamo had also submitted an offer, but that too has been rejected.

To be very honest, it seems like a bit of a risk to shell out a big transfer fee for Kvistgaarden. The Danish youth international has looked pretty good in recent times but his overall numbers at the senior level are not all that spectacular.

But then, he is just 21 years of age. Thus, it might be a case of him finding his feet at the senior level and now finally showing what he is truly capable of. His numbers at the youth international level for Denmark are pretty good.

It remains to be seen if Celtic return with a bigger offer for Kvistgaarden or not. There is not a lot of time left in the ongoing summer transfer window. In fact, only a few more days. So, it will be interesting to see how things play out.
