Celtic are expected to have a very busy last few days of the summer transfer window. Ideally, they would not be in this position but now, all they can do is make sure that they finish strong and assemble a squad capable of competing in the Champions League and continuing their dominance in domestic competitions.

There are rumours that the club could add as many as five players to their ranks before the summer transfer window slams shut. On the other hand, there could be a few who head in the opposite direction as well.

One of them is Ismaila Soro. The Ivory Coast midfielder was signed in early 2020 while Neil Lennon was the manager of the club. He has failed to make his mark at Parkhead though and now, it looks like he could be on his way out.

As reported by the Daily Record, Beitar Jerusalem are confident of finally sealing a deal for Soro. The Ivory Coast midfielder is in talks with Celtic to mutually terminate his contract.

Soro has never really found his feet at Celtic. There was a spell in the middle of the 2020/21 season when he played some consistent first-team football and to be fair to him, he impressed for a while as well.

But other than that, Soro has spent most of his time at Parkhead sitting on the bench or in the reserves. He was not a regular feature under the management of Ange Postecoglou and does not seem to be in Brendan Rodgers’ plans either.

In fact, he spent the previous campaign out on loan at FC Arouca. And now, it looks like he could be on the verge of leaving Celtic on a permanent basis, even though there is still a year left on his contract.
