Celtic are expected to be pretty busy over the next few days. The club clearly need to bring in reinforcements after they have stumbled out of the gates in the 2023/24 season. Brendan Rodgers’ side are already out of the Scottish League Cup and recently dropped points at home in the Premiership against a St Johnstone team that is yet to win a game in the ongoing campaign.

Thus, it would be safe to say that Celtic are looking like a shadow of their treble-winning side from last season. Hopefully, they will be able to bring in enough quality over the next few days to turn around their fortunes. Otherwise, we could be in for a long season.

While arrivals are expected, so are departures. And two of their most highly-rated youngsters have left on loan in order to gain some experience at the senior level.

The announcement was made early this morning. As tweeted out by Celtic FC B’s official account, Tobi Oluwayemi and Matthew Anderson have today joined Admira Wacker on a season-long loan deal.

Of course, rumours of Anderson and Oluwayemi leaving for Admira Wacker have been doing the rounds for weeks now. And finally, the official announcement has been made, with the youngsters heading for the Austrian club in order to take the next step in their development.

Both of them have been standouts at the B team level for Celtic. Now, it remains to be seen how they do in the senior game.

It is worth pointing out that Celtic do not have a great record in recent years when it comes to bringing through their own youth stars into the senior team. They will be hoping to change that moving forward. Players like Anderson and Oluwayemi could prove to be vital in that regard.
