Celtic fans will be nervous going into the last few days of the summer transfer window. There is still a lot of work to be done if the Hoops are to be competitive this season because, to be honest, they have looked anything but that. The supporters will be hoping that we see a repeat of 2021, when they managed to sign Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Giorgos Giakoumakis on deadline day, with all three proving to be great signings.
There have been rumours that Celtic could make as many as five new additions to their squad over the coming days. Other than Luis Palma, there does not seem to be any concrete links though.
All the players they were being linked with appear to be no longer available. Kieran Tierney has joined Real Sociedad on loan. Ryan Fraser finds himself at Southampton for the season. Lyanco seems to be headed to Al Gharafa.
Daniel Podence is still at Wolves. But with Celtic set to sign Palma, it is hard to see them bringing in another winger. All things considered, there are still a lot of questions about what will happen over the next few days.
Fabrizio Romano drops Celtic news ahead of deadline day
Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the situation at Celtic. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, he said:
"“For sure, there is going to be something. They’re trying to keep things quiet at the club. I think that this is positive news. At the same time, I expect them to do something by the end of the transfer window, and they will be 100% busy with that.”"
So, all we can do is wait and see how things play out from here on forward. It must be said though that the Hoops have a habit of springing transfer surprises.
The only thing that the fans will be hoping for is that they make additions who are capable of coming in and being starters from the get-go. They have already made plenty of ‘project’ signings this summer and do not need to make more to be very honest.
