Celtic handed double transfer blow before deadline day
Celtic are looking towards arguably their most important week of the season. They are set to take on the Rangers away at Ibrox in the first Glasgow Derby of the campaign next weekend. But before that, they have a few days to make sure that they adequately strengthen their squad. Because as things stand, this does not look like a team capable of competing in the Champions League and have struggled against domestic opposition as well.
The good news is, that it looks like the club are looking to make multiple additions to the roster before the transfer window slams shut. But the bad news is, that two of the players they were being linked with are headed elsewhere.
Centre-back is one area of the pitch that Celtic are expected to add to this summer. Lyanco of Southampton is someone who they were linked with.
But now, it looks like he is headed to the Middle East. As tweeted out by Al Gharafa, Lyanco has arrived in Doha in preparation for joining their first team.

Of course, Lyanco is not the only player who seems to be no longer available in the transfer market. Kieran Tierney has found a new club as well, after struggling to break into Mikel Arteta’s plans since last season.
The rumours linking the club with the Scotsman always seemed a bit ambitious. And now as reported by Arsenal’s official website, Tierney has joined LaLiga side Real Sociedad on loan for the 2023/24 season.
Lyanco and Tierney were two of the more high-profile names being linked with Celtic recently, with both having Premier League experience. Established players are what the Hoops need at this point in time if they are to succeed. They have already brought in plenty of highly-rated youngsters.
