Celtic are set to have a very busy end to the summer transfer window. Of course, that is never the ideal situation to be in. The club have already added six new faces to their squad but despite that, Brendan Rodgers’ side have not looked anywhere near up to par in the first few weeks of the campaign.
They won their first two league games. But the performances were not what you expect from this team. And they were knocked out from the Scottish League Cup in the second round by Kilmarnock, ending all hopes of potentially repeating their treble heroics from last season.
To be very honest, we are just three weeks into the new season and the players already look out of ideas. The performances can only be described as ‘lethargic’ and ‘lacking creativity’.
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic want to sign five more players. They are in talks for Luis Palma and are also targeting a new goalkeeper, left-back and centre-forward, as well as a centre-back.

Of course, that would make for a busy and frantic end to the summer transfer window. It remains to be seen if the club are able to get deals done for all of their targets.
The move for Palma seems as good as done. If reports are to be believed then a bid has already been agreed between the two clubs and personal terms are not going to be a problem either. The Honduran winger is expected to arrive in Glasgow soon.
After that, it looks like Celtic will look to strengthen in four more positions on the pitch. And those are certainly areas where they could do with a few reinforcements. Let’s see how things play out over this week and how successful they turn out to be.
