Celtic look set to be active over the final week of the summer transfer window. The club have made six new signings this time around but are still in need of reinforcements in multiple areas across the pitch. The situation is not ideal but hopefully, the Hoops will be able to make the most of it.
Celtic should look towards the summer transfer window of 2021 for inspiration. They signed Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Giorgos Giakoumakis on the final day that time around. All three proved to be brilliant signings.
One area where Celtic need to strengthen over the next week is on the wing. That is due to the departure of Jota earlier in the summer and the fact that they have not replaced him with a player of his calibre.
Luis Palma is someone who they have been heavily linked with in recent days. And there seems to be a very positive update regarding the Honduran international’s situation.
Journalist drops Celtic transfer hint as target misses training
As tweeted out by Giannis Chorianopoulos, Palma was out of Aris Thessaloniki training, ahead of his transfer. Celtic seem to be the favourites to sign him. Offers from non-European clubs are also there, but the player wants to continue playing in Europe.
Of course, Palma is someone who was heavily linked with a move to the Rangers earlier in the summer. Now, it looks like Celtic are ready to swoop in and sign the player.
Many believe that Palma is good enough to walk straight into the Celtic starting XI. We will see if that is the case if or when he arrives at Parkhead. The Honduran has been putting up some good numbers for Aris FC and certainly looks like a top talent. Of course, a deal is not over the line yet and nothing’s certain.
