Celtic have been pretty busy during the course of the summer transfer window. While fans are not happy with the lack of big-name, experienced and established additions, the Hoops have brought in six new players to the club regardless. They are Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke.
All of them are highly-rated youngsters and have a ton of potential. They do not seem ready to walk straight into the starting XI though.
Celtic now appear to have their eyes on a Honduran international. And many believe that he is good enough to be a starter for the Hoops from the get-go. The player in question is Luis Palma, who had been heavily linked with a move to the Rangers earlier in the summer. Talks over a deal are already underway.
As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are in talks with Aris FC over a potential deal for Palma. The Hoops have made an initial £3.5 million bid, which is believed to be close to the Greek club’s valuation of the 23-year-old winger. Negotiations continue.
Celtic talks for seventh signing of the summer confirmed
Palma is coming off a promising season with Aris FC. And he looks like someone who could make a contribution to Celtic from the very beginning. He has been putting up some great numbers in Greece lately.
It will be interesting to see whether Celtic are able to sign him or not. One would have to consider any move for Palma a blow for the Rangers as well, as the Ibrox club have been linked with him extensively this summer.
Let’s see how things play out over the last week of the summer transfer window. If Celtic are able to sign him, he would be the seventh addition of the new Brendan Rodgers era.
