Celtic could certainly do with more reinforcements before the summer transfer window slams shut. Their performances over the first three games of the season have shown that this side is missing a creative spark at the moment. They were not able to score against Kilmarnock and got knocked out of the Scottish League Cup in the second round.
It is quite clear that Celtic are missing someone like Jota at the moment. The Portuguese winger was capable of pulling off moments of magic out of nowhere and stepping up to the plate when the team needed him most.
Celtic have brought in two new wingers this summer in the form of Yang Hyun-jun and Marco Tilio. But neither seems to be capable of replacing Jota at the moment. Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda are good players, but they just don’t have the same qualities as the Portuguese winger.
Celtic appear to be closing in on a move for another winger though. One who has been heavily linked with the Rangers.
Celtic close to next signing after making €4.1 million bid
As tweeted out by Giannis Chorianopoulos, Aris Thessaloniki are seriously considering Celtic’s €4.1 million offer for Luis Palma. It is close to their demands.

Michael Beale’s side was heavily linked with a move for Palma earlier in the summer but were not able to get a deal done for him. Could the Hoops end up bringing him to Glasgow instead? Only time shall tell but if the latest rumours are anything to go by, a move is starting to look more likely.
It would be interesting to see how Palma does at a club like Celtic. He is a Honduran international and has undeniable quality. But at the same time, it is not easy to fill the boots of a player like Jota.
