As Celtic try to get some deals done for quality signings before the summer transfer window closes, there’s news of a potential boost that could help the club. The club have done well in the past with sell-on clauses when they have parted ways with players and another may be about to come into play.

Josip Juranovic wasn’t at Celtic Park for long. He signed in the summer of 2021 for a transfer fee around £2.5 million from Legia Warsaw. He spent close to a season and a half at the club before leaving.

Shortly after impressive displays for Croatia at the 2022 World Cup, Juranovic was signed by Bundesliga side Union Berlin for a transfer fee believed to be around £7.5 million. A transfer profit for the Hoops, although in the grand scheme of things, the number does seem low for a proven international-level star in his prime.

Now, Juranovic is being linked with a possible move away once again. As reported by Kicker, it can be heard that Juranovic is not entirely satisfied with his playing time at Union Berlin. Clubs from the Premier League, including Fulham, have already signalled an interest in the Croatian international.

A transfer fee of around £10 million could be enough to sign Juranovic if does indeed end up leaving Union Berlin. That figure seems to be on the low end once again.

The fee paid for Juranovic would only matter to the Hoops in relation to a potential sell-on fee. The sum itself is unlikely to make a significant difference to Celtic’s search for more quality players. But every little bit helps.

It remains to be seen whether Fulham do manage to get a deal done for Juranovic. It is very possible that he could stay on at Union Berlin.
