Celtic have been pretty active in the ongoing summer window. They have brought in six new players to the club in the form of Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, Maik Nawrocki and the latest to arrive, Gustaf Lagerbielke. At the same time, some fans have been left a bit underwhelmed by the transfer activity.

The club have signed highly-rated youngsters. But when Brendan Rodgers was reappointed as manager, there were heavy rumours about big-name signings and a record-breaking summer transfer window. None of that has come true yet.

The summer transfer window is not over yet though. And one high-profile name that they have been linked with recently is Daniel Podence of Wolves.

The Portuguese winger would be a great replacement for Jota, who left earlier in the summer for Al-Ittihad. It remains to be seen if Celtic are able to get a deal done. Wolves are believed to rate him at a transfer fee around £12 million.

Multiple ‘in the know’ accounts on social media have been suggesting that Celtic are closing in on an agreement with Wolves to sign Podence. It remains to be seen if these rumours are accurate or not.

For the time being, these rumours should be taken with a grain of salt. But at the same time, there could be something to the speculation, considering multiple people are suggesting that a deal is close.

Let’s see how things play out between now and the end of the summer transfer window. Signing someone like Podence would have to be considered as a major coup on the part of the club, if they can get it done. At the same time, he is not the only Premier League-proven winger they have been linked with. Ryan Fraser has been linked with a Parkhead move.
