Celtic have brought in a number of highly-rated youngsters this summer already. Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Maik Nawrocki, are all believed to have the potential to become important players for the club someday. But more reinforcements are needed if the Hoops are to defend their domestic treble and also make an impact in the Champions League.

Gustaf Lagerbielke is a player who is believed to be very close to joining Celtic. It appears to be a matter of when and not if.

On the other hand, Ryan Fraser is also someone who has been linked with a move to Parkhead recently. The winger is proven in the Premier League and could bring in some much-needed experience to this side.

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the situations involving Lagerbielke and Fraser. But he has also pointed out that there is interest in Celtic’s players as well. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, he said:

"“Yeah, it’s a work in progress in that aspect. I expect both deals to advance in the next days as there are conversations ongoing. So the idea is to advance, and we have to see what’s going to happen next there because there is interest also in their players.”"

Unless something unexpected happens over the coming days, Lagerbielke is expected to become a Celtic player over the coming days. Rumours have suggested that a fee has already been agreed with his club IF Elfsborg.

On the other hand, it will be interesting to see whether the club will actually make a move for Fraser or not. The winger is set to leave Newcastle United this summer after having not featured since October of last year. It is quite clear that he is no longer a part of Eddie Howe’s plans. His wages could prove to be a potential stumbling block though.

There are other players being linked with a move to Celtic too. Just recently, names like Eric Dier, Daniel Podence and Quentin Merlin have cropped up as potential targets for the club this summer. This could be an exciting last few weeks in the transfer window for sure.
