Celtic have had a mixed summer transfer window till now. Nobody can deny that the club have brought in some very talented youngsters to Parkhead, who have a ton of potential. Gustaf Lagerbielke recently became the sixth signing of the second Brendan Rodgers era, with the Swedish centre-back being signed from IF Elfsborg.

The likes of Odin Thiago Holm, Maik Nawrocki and Yang Hyun-jun have already shown glimpses of their quality since joining. Hopefully, the others will find their feet soon as well.

On the other hand, one cannot overlook the significant exits that have taken place in this summer transfer window. Two key starters in Jota and Carl Starfelt have left the club and many feel that the starting XI has been weakened as a result.

Thus, it is important that the club do not lose any more starters this summer, while hopefully also adding some more quality to their ranks. Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the situation.

Fabrizio offers important Celtic transfer update

As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Romano said:

"“The next few days and weeks are going to be important for Celtic to keep their players at the club. This is crucial, and they know that after the Starfelt deal with Celta Vigo, it’s important for them to keep the players at the club, and then we will see the next moves at the end of the window.”"

It is really very important that Celtic hold on to the players that they have right now. This is a treble-winning squad after all.

The likes of Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate, Liel Abada and a few others have been linked with summer exits. But hopefully, they will remain Celtic players beyond this window. We can only hope at this point.

On the other hand, it would not be a bad idea to add a few players to the squad, who could walk into the starting XI from the get-go.

They have been linked with names like Eric Dier, Daniel Podence, Quentin Merlin and Ryan Fraser. Any of those could prove to be decent signings for the club. Now, it remains to be seen how much substance there is to the rumours.
