Celtic have lost a couple of key players this summer in the form of Carl Starfelt and Jota. Both of them were starters for the past two seasons and played a major part in winning five trophies during that period of time. Thus, their exits have certainly weakened the squad. It is not just established stars who are being linked with moves away from Parkhead though.
Celtic have a talented group of youngsters right now. And perhaps the one with the most expectations surrounding him is Rocco Vata.
The son of former Celtic player, Rudi Vata, the 18-year-old has already made a few appearances at the senior level. Clubs from other leagues seem to be already chasing the signature of the youngster as well.
As reported by the Daily Record, Club Brugge are watching Vata’s situation at Celtic. The Belgian club have been scouting the player for more than a year. Torino are believed to be interested in him as well.
Belgian club want to sign highly-rated Celtic player
Thus, it looks like Vata will have no lack of options if he does decide to leave Celtic in the near future. The best-case scenario for the club would be him staying.
Vata has shown incredible potential at the youth level for the club. And they will be hoping that he is successful in replicating that at the senior level as well.
That is easier said than done though. Celtic do not have a great recent record when it comes to bringing through youngsters into the senior team.
Vata is in the final year of his contract with the Hoops. As a result, it would be understandable if he gave leaving a consideration, if offers from clubs like Club Brugge and Torino did come in. Brendan Rodgers has a good record of developing and promoting youngsters though. The 18-year-old should give that consideration before deciding his future.
