Celtic have been very active in the summer transfer window. They have brought in five fresh faces to the club and it remains to be seen how things turn out for them at Parkhead. On the other hand, there have been quite a few who have headed in the opposite direction as well, including starters like Jota and Carl Starfelt.

There are still a few players who do not seem to have much of a future at Celtic Park though. And them leaving might be best for all parties involved.

One player who appears to fall under that category is Ismaila Soro. The Ivory Coast midfielder was signed in early 2020 and except for a brief spell in the 2020/21 campaign, he has never managed to make much of an impact for the Hoops.

He spent the previous season out on loan at Portuguese club, FC Arouca. It might be time for a more permanent solution though, with just a year left on Soro’s contract. And it looks like Celtic have managed to agree a deal, although whether it will happen or not remains unclear.

As reported by Foot Mercato, Celtic have agreed with Valenciennes to transfer Soro for a €150,000 fee. But it is believed that the player would prefer to sign for Beitar Jerusalem.

It remains to be seen how things play out in the Soro transfer saga moving forward. His leaving Celtic would be best for the club though as it seems pretty clear that he does not have a role in Brendan Rodgers’ team.

Soro just does not seem to fit into the style of football that Celtic play. Perhaps he would be much better suited to a different club. Does his future lie in the French second division? Only time shall tell.
