Kieran Tierney was one of the faces of Celtic before leaving in the summer of 2019, to join Premier League giants Arsenal. He has had an inconsistent time in London. Not too long ago, the Scot was considered a future captain of the club. But now, he cannot even get into Mikel Arteta’s matchday squads.

Tierney was left out Arsenal’s squad for their Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest. Naturally, that has only increased the speculation around his future and a potential exit this summer.

Tierney might not be playing a lot of football for Arsenal but he remains a very good player. It is just that Arteta seems to have found players that he prefers ahead of the Scotsman, who has not been helped by his injury record either.

Could a return to Celtic be a possibility for Tierney? Signing him on a permanent basis is pretty much impossible for the Hoops considering the transfer fee it would take. But would it be possible to engineer a loan move?

Journalist makes Tierney Celtic return claim

As reported by GIVEMESPORT, journalist Rudy Galetti said:

"“In this moment, Kieran Tierney is the hottest name for Celtic.“Brendan Rodgers, in his statement, wants to dampen spirits over whether his return to Scotland is possible. But the Arsenal player is, for sure, one of the most appreciated players by Celtic.“Arsenal have asked for around £25million or £30million to let him go permanently, but a transfer on loan is also considered an option.”"

Signing someone like Tierney would be a statement of intent on the part of Celtic. Of course, it is very likely that he will not end up at Parkhead but one can dream.

Tierney has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal all summer and yet, nothing has materialised till now. The rumours linking him with Newcastle United and Aston Villa have pretty much faded away by this point.

As we get closer to the end of the summer transfer window, the more likely it becomes that Arsenal would open up to the prospect of loaning out the left-back. It is hard to see them trying to keep a player, who does not seem to be in Arteta’s plans right now.
